With this list I want to publish my collection of literature references on Myriapods in alphabetical order. It contains over 13.000 references from the year 1551 up to date. But it is under no circumstances complete. It is estimated that the number of publications on Myriapods exceeds 15.000.
I have started to compiled this list out of collections by Norman Lindner and Dr. Jörg Spelda. By extensive use of databases like Biological Abstracts and Zoological Records and intensive search in journals and books I could add some thousands more.
Almost all publications of K. W. Verhoeffs are published in Mauermayer, Gisela (1962): Verzeichnis der Veröffentlichungen von K. W. Verhoeff. - In: Lebensdarstellungen deutscher Naturforscher 9, Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, Leipzig.
The literature of v. J.F. Brandt is completly published in: Goczol, Manfred (1971): Personalbiografien von Mitgliedern der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften Sankt Petersburg unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Anatomie, Physiologie, Zoologie und Botanik im ungefähren Zeitraum von 1725-1875. Inaugural - Dissertation zur Erlangung der Doktorwürde. Uni Erlangen-Nürnberg, Mediz. Fakultät.
The listed authors will excuse me, if I have misspelled names and titels, forgot some of their papers or made other faults.
It would be really helpful if everybody who has additional references and information could put this information to my disposal. I will add all missing references to this list. Maybe it will be complete sometimes.
